ChicaTiza Paint — Paint Like You Mean It
Small Batch · Clay & Mineral Rich · Made in Corbett, Oregon
ChicaTiza began with a simple problem: we knew exactly how we wanted paint to feel, move, layer, and finish—and we could not find it in one jar.
We wanted rich color without a plastic-looking surface. A paint that could cover beautifully, blend without a fight, build honest texture, and still soften into a wash when the work called for it. We wanted something at home on furniture, wood, art panels, and mixed-media projects. So we stopped searching and began making it.
ChicaTiza is our water-based, highly pigmented clay and mineral paint, produced in small batches here in Corbett, Oregon. Its naturally matte, porous finish gives color depth and leaves the surface open for layering, distressing, glazing, waxing, decoupage, and other creative finishes.
This is paint for people who follow the work instead of forcing every idea into the same tidy little box.
One Paint, More Range
Use it straight from the jar for strong color and coverage. Work it with a brush or palette knife when you want visible movement and texture. Add water gradually for softer layers, transparent color, or a more fluid application. The result depends on your surface, your tools, and the way you choose to work—which is precisely the point.
Its porosity also makes ChicaTiza a generous foundation for creative finishing. Color can be layered and worn back. Wax and compatible topcoats can deepen the surface. Decoupage and decorative techniques can become part of the piece instead of looking pasted on afterward.
Made for Real-Life Making
ChicaTiza is made for furniture artists, painters, makers, curious beginners, and gloriously uncommitted creatives who refuse to pick a single lane. Paint a cabinet. Build an art panel. Add a loose wash to a wood project. Layer a mixed-media piece until it finally says what you meant.
Because the finish is porous, many hardworking, frequently handled, or moisture-prone surfaces should be sealed after the paint has fully dried. Your project—not a blanket rule—should determine the finish. We believe materials should give you choices, not pretend every surface lives the same life.
Why Small Batch Matters
We make ChicaTiza in intentionally small runs so we can pay attention to the paint itself: its consistency, color, and the way it performs when a brush meets the surface. It is not mass-produced paint wearing an artisan costume. It is developed, mixed, poured, and used by makers who care deeply about what happens after the lid comes off.
ChicaTiza was built at our own worktable because creativity is rarely clean, predictable, or interested in staying inside the lines. Good paint should be ready for that.
Color forward. Maker driven. Paint like you mean it.
