Sally cherished our first-generation Grainery Stamp and it inspired us to evolve it into something even more versatile. Meet Mercantile, a fresh take on this beloved classic! This set features dozens of stamp combinations, allowing every piece to be mixed and matched. Craft unique compositions by pairing elements like rustic horses, vintage advertising typography, and decorative wreaths for a diverse range of looks.
Drawing inspiration from the authentic linen texture of vintage grain sacks, this set is wonderful for Farmhouse, French Fleamarket, and classic Americana (Jami Ray, we think you’ll love this one!). Decorate throw pillows, tea towels, or create distinctive wall art, infusing each project with a touch of heritage.
Handy Tips:
- Use a thin mount and grid with the grain stripes to get a continuous, nice, straight pattern. Want to use just one strip element of the grain stripes? Ink only the one you want to use and stamp.
- The wheat element is designed to be flexible, allowing you to create continuous patterns or clustered designs depending on how you arrange them. You can also curve the wheat as you stamp to get different looks.
- Use the accent elements next to the cow and horse for styled dividers (great on tea towels).
- Repeat the flourish accents to make end-to-end borders.

MERCANTILE 12X12 IOD STAMP™ is made from clear, reusable IOD stamp material. Use it with IOD Décor Ink, a thin layer of paint, or another compatible art medium on a clean, prepared surface.

Two 12 × 12-inch stamp sheets.
How to Use
Condition the design side once before first use with a fine-grit sanding block, moving lightly in two directions. Remove the selected stamp from its backing, arrange it on a thin mount, and apply a thin, even layer of IOD Décor Ink or paint. Press evenly without sliding, then lift straight away.
How to Care For
Clean promptly after use with mild soap and warm water or a cleaner made for clear stamps. Do not use high heat or place the stamp in a dishwasher. Allow it to dry completely, then return it to its backing or storage.
About the Design
MERCANTILE 12X12 IOD STAMP™ by Iron Orchid Designs features a cow, horse, rooster, wheat stems, laurel wreaths, ornamental borders, grain stripes, filigree flourishes, and vintage mercantile typography. The horizontal stripes and borders can be repeated end to end, while the animal emblems, wreaths, lettering, and accents can be layered into centered labels or vertical and horizontal compositions. The clear stamp has no fixed finished color; each impression takes on the color and finish of the ink or paint selected for the project.
