Turn dry pigment and liquid paint ingredients into a smoother, more evenly dispersed paint with a substantial handcrafted glass tool.
What Is It?
The Large Glass Pigment Muller is a recycled-glass studio tool with a broad base designed to grind and distribute dry pigment evenly through the liquid used to make paint.
What’s Included?
One handcrafted Large Glass Pigment Muller.
Why You’ll Love It?
Its wide glass base gives you more contact with the mixing surface, helping break apart dry clumps and create smoother paint than stirring alone. Each piece is made by local artisans from recycled glass and varies slightly.
How to Use It
Work on a clean, flat glass palette. Place a small amount of dry pigment on the palette and add the liquid for the paint you are making a little at a time: use Refined Walnut Oil for oil paint, Natural Acrylik Medium™ for acrylic-style paint, or prepared Gum Arabic for watercolor or gouache. Hold the muller firmly and move its base across the mixture in small circles or a figure-eight pattern. Scrape the paint back into the center with a palette knife as needed, then continue until the mixture looks smooth and evenly colored.
Safety & Quality
Handcrafted in the United States from recycled glass. Use it on a stable surface and handle it as you would any substantial glass studio tool.
Size & Weight
The base measures 4 inches in diameter, the muller stands 4.75 inches tall, and it weighs approximately 2 lb.
