Make luminous oil paint, adjust prepared paint, clean brushes, or tint bare wood with a traditional artist oil that allows natural pigments to stay bright.
What Is It?
Refined Walnut Oil is an organic, archival oil-painting medium used to turn dry earth and mineral pigments into oil paint. This slow-drying, time-tested oil yellows less than linseed oil, while its refractive qualities help pigments appear bright and vibrant.
What’s Included?
One bottle of organic Refined Walnut Oil.
Why You’ll Love It?
One straightforward material can make fresh oil paint, thin paint already on your palette, clean brushes, or create a natural wood stain. Its slower drying time gives you room to blend and work the paint.
How to Use It
To make oil paint, place dry pigment on a palette and form a small crater in the center. Add a small amount of Refined Walnut Oil, then mix with a palette knife or the Large Glass Pigment Muller until the paint is smooth and reaches the consistency you want. To make a wood stain, mix pigment with the oil, brush it onto bare wood, and wipe it with a dry rag. Add more pigment or leave the stain unwiped for a more opaque result. Use Eco-Solve when you need to thin oil paint further or clean oil-painting tools.
