One of the themes of this release is academia (can you tell?!), a theme we've absolutely fallen for, evoking daydreams of tranquil, cozy book nooks in beautiful botanical spaces.
The birdcages were the starting point for this two-stamp set when Sally came across some beautiful, washed-back birdcages encapsulating beautiful floral elements.
We took great care in crafting the bars and cloches, ensuring they enhance your designs without overshadowing them. The bars allow you to stamp over your chosen elements seamlessly, while the cloches, with their reduced shadowing, offer a clear showcase for whatever you place inside.
Envision this set in your mixed media projects, pairing perfectly with our Kindest Regards, Le Courrier, or Butterfly Stamps, as well as Millot’s Pages or Brocante Transfers. There is so much potential for beautiful layering and intricate compositions.
A little insider tip: The pointy stand above the bird is upside down – flip it, and it becomes the perfect perch for pinned beetles, butterflies, or moths. And why not add a touch of dimension with our Butterfly or Specimens Moulds for some eye-catching three-dimensional effects?

PASTICHE 12X12 IOD STAMP™ is a two-sheet set made from clear, reusable IOD stamp material. Use it with IOD Décor Ink, a thin layer of paint, or another compatible art medium on a clean, prepared surface.

How to Use
Condition the design side once before first use with a fine-grit sanding block, moving lightly in two directions. Keep the designs on the backing sheet or cut individual elements apart when useful. Apply a thin, even layer of IOD Décor Ink or paint, press evenly without sliding, and lift straight away. Layer selected specimens inside or over the cages and cloches as the composition requires.
How to Care For
Clean promptly after use with mild soap and warm water or a cleaner made for clear stamps. Do not use high heat or place the stamp in a dishwasher. Allow it to dry completely, then return it to its backing or storage.
About the Design
PASTICHE 12X12 IOD STAMP™ by Iron Orchid Designs features tall and rounded birdcages, glass cloches on pedestal bases, perched birds, eggs, beetles, butterflies, other insect specimens, and botanical details. The cages and cloches are upright display forms designed to frame smaller natural-history elements, while the individual birds, insects, eggs, and plants can be layered inside them or used separately. The clear stamp has no fixed finished color; each impression takes on the color and finish of the ink or paint selected for the project.
